The Health Professionals Portal (HPP) is one of the initiatives identified under the HealthNet.21, an IT master plan developed in 2000 to help the healthcare sector use InfoComm Technology to provide better standards of healthcare at lower costs, bringing benefits to the patient, the public, healthcare professionals, healthcare institutions and health policy makers.

Phase I of the HPP was completed in 2003. Under the current version, HPP has been further enhanced to be positioned as a one-stop portal for the healthcare professional community to access multiple e-services and information repository using single-sign-on through a common interface. Current and future e-services would be able to leverage on this common interface for authorisation and authentication.
