Entry Requirements
The qualifications required for entry to practice as an allied health professional differs according to the specific profession.

Diploma Qualifications
In Singapore, you would need at least a diploma qualification to practice in the following allied health professions:

• Diagnostic Radiographer 
• Physiotherapist 
• Occupational Therapist 
• Radiation Therapist 

The School of Health Sciences at Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) offers 3-year Diploma courses for Diagnostic Radiography, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Radiation Therapy.

Degree-conversion programmes in overseas universities are also available for NYP graduates wishing to upgrade their Diploma.

Degree Qualifications
In Singapore, you would need at least a degree qualification to practice in the following allied health professions:

• Dietitian (A 6-month clinical internship training period is also required)
• Orthotist
• Podiatrist
• Prosthetist
• Speech Therapist

There are presently no local degree courses for these allied health professions. Degree qualifications are tenable from overseas universities.

Scholarships and Bursary Awards
Various scholarships and bursary awards are available for fresh 'A' level students keen in joining the allied health professions.

Health Sciences Scholarship
Offered for selected groups of allied health professions.

Other scholarships and bursary awards 
Available from National Healthcare Group,Singapore Health Services and Alexandra Hospital.
